Ben's Legal Troubles

Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault for the 2nd or 3rd time in about a 2 year span. He has been investigated but has never been formally charged in these cases. That is beyond the fact. He puts himself in these situations all the time and it is just a matter of time it comes back to haunt him. The commissioner just gave him a 4-6 game suspension and the Steelers have now said they have a no tolerance policy.
I believe that Ben Roethlisberger should be given one last chance to change his ego and personality before he is kicked out of the NFL. He is a professional athlete and a role model to many. This is not the way a role model to many kids should act. Ben needs to get his head straight and teach kids the right way to act. This is not the things to be showing kids and if he doesn't stop kids are going to start acting the way he is. I agree with the 4-6 game suspension Commissioner Goodell handed him. Hopefully this will turn the light bulb on in his head and he will get his act together.

Early draft Entry

Now since the NCAA tournament has ended many people have been commiting to the NBA draft. There is a rule in the NBA that every player has to go to college for at least 1 year. There are man people that disagree with this rule because the kids want to go straight to the NBA. On the other hand, the NBA believes that it gives the kids 1 more year to mature out of high school. People also believe that the kids got one year of education before they leave.

I believe that kids should be able to leave right out of high school. It does not do the kids any good to make them go for one year because all they want is to end that year and go to the NBA. It also does not help with their education because most of them don't do their work and slide by school. Going to college for one year does give the kids a year to mature but it is also the kids call if they think they are ready to go or not.

Mining Accident

As you probably know, there was a mining accident in West Virginia. A mine collapsed and it trapped many miners in the mine. There have been many of the miners that have not been found. This is an awful disaster that has occured in West Virginia. This is not the first mine accident either, there was one a couple of years ago that killed quite a bit of people.

This is a traumatic experience for all the miners work partners and their families. I don't know how I could handle it if I lost a relative in a work accident like this. My thoughts and prayers go out to those families. Bob Huggins also reached out to the families. After the West Virginia basketball team got back in town from the final four, Bob went and took the families dinner and talked with them for about an hour. This is a great gesture especially counting the fact they were just in the final four. I hope those families have a strong heart and mind and get over this tragic incident as soon as possible.

Butler's remarkable run

Now that the NCAA championship is tomorrow and Butler is in it, it is time to discuss the cinderella run they have had. Many people expected them to lose to UTEP, then to syracuse, kansas state and michigan state. They have been the underdog in the last three games and they find ways to win. Their defense is remarkable, becoming the first team to hold every opponent in the tournament to under 60 points. Against Michigan State, they did not score a field goal in 11 minutes and still maintained a lead after that. This is a remarkable story.

After following the NCAA tournament this year, this is one of the greatest sports stories I have seen. You have a bunch of kids from Butler upsetting all these powerhouse schools and showing that they belong. It is remarkable to see them play because of their defense, and the fact that they are never scared. I will admit that i did not think they were very good, but they have gained my respect this tournament. I will never doubt Butler ever again. It was absolute crazy in the final four game and I am so proud to be from the same state as them. Every basketball fan in Indiana should be following them. GO BUTLER!!!
