Lebron James

Right now in the playoffs, the Cavaliers are struggling to survive. They just got beat by the Celtics by 32 and are down 3 to 2 in the series. There are many fans worried that Lebron is going to leave. This playoff run they are on right now is not helping the cause.

I believe Lebron James is going to leave Cleveland for a better team. I believe this because it seems that the Cavs can't get to the Championship. If Lebron believes this, he is going to ditch Cleveland and go to a city in which he thinks can win a championship

Oil Leak

As many people know, there was an oil spill off the coast of Louisiana. This has caused for endangerment to wildlife, the water, and an increase in gas prices. There are many people that are affected by the oil spill. All of the Gulf Coast is affected and there are now signs of the oil reaching land.

I think this oil spill is a bad thing for the people. It affects our economy because the gas prices go up, but the most important part is people's health. The oil can affect the water and food out of the gulf coast so the people should be well aware of the danger this oil causes.

Graduation

Now that graduation is coming up, it reminds me of Greendwood's valevictorian. The situation is that the whole class agreed to pray and graduation, but he doesn't want to. This has become a big deal and has been taken to court. There are many people that believe the class should pray, and some people believe the class shouldn't pray. This situation also deals with the constitution involving seperation of church and state.

I believe that the kids should be able to pray at graduation. The majority of the class voted to pray and one person shouldn't affect that decision. The judge is making the decision now, but he should keep in mind all the other kids that are affected and that want to pray. One kid should not be able to affect that decision.

Ben's Legal Troubles

Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault for the 2nd or 3rd time in about a 2 year span. He has been investigated but has never been formally charged in these cases. That is beyond the fact. He puts himself in these situations all the time and it is just a matter of time it comes back to haunt him. The commissioner just gave him a 4-6 game suspension and the Steelers have now said they have a no tolerance policy.
I believe that Ben Roethlisberger should be given one last chance to change his ego and personality before he is kicked out of the NFL. He is a professional athlete and a role model to many. This is not the way a role model to many kids should act. Ben needs to get his head straight and teach kids the right way to act. This is not the things to be showing kids and if he doesn't stop kids are going to start acting the way he is. I agree with the 4-6 game suspension Commissioner Goodell handed him. Hopefully this will turn the light bulb on in his head and he will get his act together.

Early draft Entry

Now since the NCAA tournament has ended many people have been commiting to the NBA draft. There is a rule in the NBA that every player has to go to college for at least 1 year. There are man people that disagree with this rule because the kids want to go straight to the NBA. On the other hand, the NBA believes that it gives the kids 1 more year to mature out of high school. People also believe that the kids got one year of education before they leave.

I believe that kids should be able to leave right out of high school. It does not do the kids any good to make them go for one year because all they want is to end that year and go to the NBA. It also does not help with their education because most of them don't do their work and slide by school. Going to college for one year does give the kids a year to mature but it is also the kids call if they think they are ready to go or not.

Mining Accident

As you probably know, there was a mining accident in West Virginia. A mine collapsed and it trapped many miners in the mine. There have been many of the miners that have not been found. This is an awful disaster that has occured in West Virginia. This is not the first mine accident either, there was one a couple of years ago that killed quite a bit of people.

This is a traumatic experience for all the miners work partners and their families. I don't know how I could handle it if I lost a relative in a work accident like this. My thoughts and prayers go out to those families. Bob Huggins also reached out to the families. After the West Virginia basketball team got back in town from the final four, Bob went and took the families dinner and talked with them for about an hour. This is a great gesture especially counting the fact they were just in the final four. I hope those families have a strong heart and mind and get over this tragic incident as soon as possible.

Butler's remarkable run

Now that the NCAA championship is tomorrow and Butler is in it, it is time to discuss the cinderella run they have had. Many people expected them to lose to UTEP, then to syracuse, kansas state and michigan state. They have been the underdog in the last three games and they find ways to win. Their defense is remarkable, becoming the first team to hold every opponent in the tournament to under 60 points. Against Michigan State, they did not score a field goal in 11 minutes and still maintained a lead after that. This is a remarkable story.

After following the NCAA tournament this year, this is one of the greatest sports stories I have seen. You have a bunch of kids from Butler upsetting all these powerhouse schools and showing that they belong. It is remarkable to see them play because of their defense, and the fact that they are never scared. I will admit that i did not think they were very good, but they have gained my respect this tournament. I will never doubt Butler ever again. It was absolute crazy in the final four game and I am so proud to be from the same state as them. Every basketball fan in Indiana should be following them. GO BUTLER!!!

NCAA March Madness

With the NCAA brackets just coming out, it bring up all the talk about March Madness. There are three Indiana teams that are in the tournament. These teams include Purdue, Butler, and Notre Dame. Ever Since Robbie Hummel has been hurt Purdue has been inconsistent, but they are a four seed in the tournament. Butler and Notre Dame have been very impressive the past couple of weeks, and that includes in their conference tournament.

My question is do you think any of the Indiana teams can make it to the sweet sixteen this year?

I do not believe that any of the teams can make it to the sweet sixteen. With Purdue, if they still had Hummel I think they would have made it to the final four, but it is hard to play without your best player. They didn't look very impressive in their conference tournament so I think they will either lose to Siena or Texas A&M. With Butler, I don't think they are good enough to play with a major conference team. They play good against Horizon League teams, but their is no comparison to a Horizon League team to a NCAA tournament team. I am predicting Butler will lose to Vanderbilt in the Second Round. Notre Dame on the other hand has impressed me of late. They have a tough draw in the tournament though. They got the sixth seed and will most likely face off against Baylor in the second round. I do believe that Notre Dame can beat them but I am predicting them to lose against Old Dominion in the first round.
